FAQs [Pelican Blitz 100x EXO Kayak]:

What Can You Do To Care For Your Kayak?

Avoid direct sunlight exposure for your kayak. The deck’s surface temperature can be controlled by the water that flows over it while in use. However, if the deck is exposed to direct sunlight, heat absorption effects are amplified when it is dry.

Before and after every use, inspect your kayak for cracks and dents. You will not notice any damage to your kayak’s performance from minor abrasions, scratches, wear off, or dents.

When not in use, store your kayak in a well-ventilated area. If your kayak is left out in direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time, it can become damaged.

What Can You Do To Maintain Your Kayak?

Use mild soap and warm water to clean your kayak. To remove saltwater and sand deposits, we recommend that you rinse your kayak with warm water after every use. Keep your kayak looking new by cleaning it regularly.

Your kayak’s finish can be damaged by chemicals found in sunscreen lotions and cleaning products. The foam blocks found in most Pelican kayaks are for flotation purposes only.

How Do You Store A Kayak For A Longer Period?

Tight straps and ropes can cause damage to your kayak.

The drain plug can be removed and left out to regulate the air pressure in the kayak. To drain any water accumulated due to condensation or seepage, place the kayak upright (on its stern).

Your kayak should be kept in a shaded and well-ventilated area. It can be damaged by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

It would help if you did not keep your kayak in a bag, tarp or for long periods. A wet kayak stored in a bag or tarp for too long can cause mold and osmotic injuries. Bags and tarps can trap heat, which could cause your kayak to overheat.

Place your kayak on a smooth surface. For extended periods, avoid placing your kayak on sawhorses. Avoid placing it near a heat source such as a stove or radiator. Hanging it from its handles or hanging it on a hook could cause damage to the hull. If you plan to store it outside, cover it with a cockpit cover. [pdf]

Customer Review:

This beginner kayak gets a 5-star rating. This kayak is extremely stable and will not allow you to roll. I purchased two at the beginning of the summer: one for myself and one for my wife. The Bandit can be used for leisurely trips on rivers and lakes, even though it won’t speed you through them. You can store various items or bags in the storage space behind the seat. My son used the kayak for fishing. He was able to stand in the kayak and throw his hook and line. This sturdy kayak can be purchased at a reasonable price if you do your research. I highly recommend it. – Kevin VanDam
